It’s been a great weekend for Marathons/Half Marathons & 10k’s!
Three of Wreakes finest travelled to Manchester to take on the 26.2 mile course which went through Altrincham, Sale & Urmston along with nearly 8,000 runners.
Jim Kett was the first Wreake home with an amazing time of 2:57.36, Dave Rose finished soon after in 3:04.17
Matt Franklin also had a brilliant time of 3:11.22 (Not bad for his first Marathon!)
Well done to all three lads who put in a great deal of training that certainly paid off!
Keeping on the theme of Marathons, Phill Wilson ran the Longhorn Trail Marathon set in the grounds of Thorseby Hall, a grade 1 listed 19th century country house in north Nottinghamshire, Phill had the run of his life finishing in 3rd place overall with an incredible time of 3:15.48…. and very little training!
Lyndsey Wilson (2:05.35) & Jane Collingham (2:24.24) took on the Half Marathon, both finishing with very impressive times… well done ladies.
There was also a 10k route option, AJ Tebbutt & Matt Thorpe ran the course together both finishing in 1:04.45, another race to add to their goal of running 2015 miles in 2015… well done both.
Beacon Bunny Run… Kristian Carver ran the 10k course around Beacon Hill, finishing 12th place overall in 45:39, another great run by Kris
