The ‘Wales Trail Marathon’ was this years challenge for some of the Wreake Runners, 19x runners took to the trails of Coed y Brenin forest in the Snowdonia National Park.
A choice of either the half or full marathon route, both equally challenging with stunning views and some pretty tough hills!!
The full marathoners started first with Dave Rose & Phill Wilson taking the lead for Wreake, The rest us (Matt Noble/Matt Franklin/Jon Finnemore/ Kris Carver & Scott Beasley) managed to stick together until around the 16 mile mark.
Phill Wilson unfortunately had to cut his race short and leave the course halfway after twisting his ankle at mile 7… amazingly still finishing with a half marathon time of 1:56!!!
After having such a great run for around 17 miles, Jon Finnemore also had to call it a day after an injury finally got too painful to carry on.
