Who likes an early morning run? This morning a group of Wreake Runners took part in the ‘Sunrise City 5k’ in Victoria Park, Leicester. It was great to see some of our new ‘Learn to Run’ group were in attendance too. The run started at 5:30am, an early start but well worth it as the run made us all feel alert and happy (before most of us headed off to work for the day!). It was interesting to run around the streets of Leicester – down New Walk and past the cathedral – early in the day before the city was filled with people and traffic. At the end of the run we all received a large medal and a healthy fruit breakfast. The sun remained hidden that morning, but we’d all recommend the Sunrise City event next time.
Very well done to Ben who took 1st place (even though he was “taking it easy”!)
Great running everyone!
