April Club Nights 2025

April has arrived and with it, the clocks have sprung forward! At last we can start to enjoy lighter evenings for running, along with getting off the road! The sunset time for the beginning of the month is 19:38, and by the end of April is 20:28!! Whoop! For those new to Wreake this year, we will start incorporating off road into club nights, and we often enjoy going a bit further afield to some surrounding villages. Our countryside is beautiful and we are blessed to have so many footpaths to explore. I will try to cater for as many tastes as possible (it is difficult and I do my best), but where I don’t post a road route, you can always choose to do one and still meet with everyone. Where possible we also like to enjoy the ‘local’ after and keep your eyes posted for special social nights. With April being unpredictable, we may have to alter routes, so again keep you eyes posted on the Forum as well as the What’s App group. Don’t forget and People’s Choice nights, if you have a route and want to share.
April also sees the race season ramping up, and as you can see from the bottom, the list (although not exclusive) is massive! April also sees for many, the culmination in the months of training to get to that spring marathon. There are many Wreakies taking on one or more races, so if you have a spare morning or day, why not go along and be a cheerleader? Well done to everyone who got through the hard months of slog in the rain and wind to get to your event and good luck. You have already made your Wreake family proud no matter what! April also sees two LRRL race with Desford 6 and Stilton 7. Both events challenging and good luck to all! I must admit however, Stilton is a lovely league race, but definately one of the more difficult ones, with having to climb the hill twice! If you haven’t entered, please come along and encourage your team around the course!
And finally, for all those racing particularly the end of the month; where there is the London Marathon, the Not London Marathon, Manchester Marathon and Coventry half – you are simply AMAZING!
