Best Samosa toastie ever thanks Ricky’s mum aka Bev. Oh yeah, and the first road running league race of the season! No survival packs needed, no compass, no mud claws, and carbon plated shoes are optional. (missed you Bushy!) Nineteen beautiful Wreakies took on the mountains of Asfordby in the Stilton 7, with all its ups and downs. There are no flats, and Toby (my hun) in his first league race EVER, came in an awesome 8th! The times of the race range from 35:31 to 1:38:29, so time should definitely not put people off putting on a club vest. Lizzie led home the ladies in one place better 7th (girl power), showing that off road racing really does reap rewards on the roads.
Lots of people achieving, aiming and talking about club standards already this year. Congratulations go out to all who got what they wanted. For anyone that missed out, don’t give up of a achieving something – train and keep working hard. Don’t forget club nights are the perfect place to train. Well done to everyone that raced, ran, relaxed or recovered today. Best wishes and speedy recovery to those training for events that are recovering from illness/injury. See you all at the next one!
