LRRL Awards
Last night saw the yearly awards ceremony for the Summer League races. Myself, Helen, Dave, Jim, Julie, Anne and surprise attendance by Bruno descended upon the Awards night at Leicestershire County Cricket Club. A wide array of attendees filled the venue and plenty of catching up ensued. The Awards started with individual awards and up first was Bruno for Vet 50 men’s second place. Shortly after was Anne Holyland with her well deserved second place senior lady with big smiles by them both. Jim was up next for his 100% attendance award. Food was served in what seemed to be a sprint for the buffet tables!! After everyone had eaten it was then the group awards – Wreake Men’s Seniors won 2nd place in Division 2. Trophies will be given out to those winners shortly.
After the Awards came the raffle. Jim won twice so obviously he put his lucky pants on to win a box of Quality Street and then a Basket hamper.. Photos will be uploaded shortly.
So a big well done to you all for your efforts this Summer. Great team atmosphere so let’s keep the good vibes going through the months ahead and XC races.
Also mentioned was that we now need to car share to races as parking has become very tedious. So before next weekend I’d like those racing to share where possible please.
