Ever wanted to start running but lacked motivation or didn’t know where to start? Joining an organised couch to 5k could be exactly what you need. Whether you have never run before or looking for a new way to improve your physical and mental health, C25K is for everyone. It can help to boost your confidence and self-belief, as you prove that you can set yourself a target and achieve your goal. The course will take you through to your graduation at a local parkrun! Our friendly run leaders and fellow C25K-ers will support you every week to help you complete the duration. You will need a good pair of trainers and comfortable sports clothing.
If you can comfortably run 5k already but looking to progress further we also offer a 5k-10k group. This is great for those needing motivation and support to push beyond 5k to the next milestone. The group aims to bridge the gap from 5k to club night distances which vary from 4 to 7 miles. There are plenty of local 10k events to enter providing a goal to work towards too. Our current 8 week course started in March 2024.
You can complete the membership forms online and select C25K or 5-10K in the membership type options drop down menu. Each course is £10 total and this is refundable against your membership should you wish to join the club on completion. We would encourage those doing the C25K in June to progress directly on to the 5-10K group to allow you to comfortably join our club nights at the end of the 10k course.
If you are a lapsed runner and want to come down for a run, contact us and come along to one of our club nights for a free trial. We offer a 4 week (or 4 session) trial so you can see if this is the right club for you. We ask that you are comfortable running for about an hour at roughly 12min/mile pace and complete a trial membership form before you come.
