The Wreake Treasure Hunt is a fun annual club event organised by Lyn & Club President Dave Palmer, who report on this year’s hunt…
With this not taking place till later in the year (Sept 16th), we decided to change the format of the day by starting off with an optional Sunday Carvery lunch and then doing the Treasure Hunt afterwards. This seemed to prove very popular with the majority taking the lunch option.
29 people split up into 8 groups to tackle our set of cryptic clues. A quick shower came just as we were trying to get people started, but it didn’t last long and we had everyone away by 2pm.
Teams started arriving back after only an hour (memo to self – must make it a bit harder next time !), so Lyn & I then began the task of marking the answers.
We were soon ready to announce the results. Never before had we seen such a close result, with only 35 points separating first and last (10 points for a correct answer).
Lyn read out the answers, accompanied by the usual light-hearted moans & groans.
First prize went to Richard & Gill Linnett, with Jon, Sammy & Sam a close second.
Thanks to everyone who took part and made it a very enjoyable day for Lyn & I as well.
