Well done to all Wreakies who took part in the ‘Watermead Challenge’, this is a 3 or 5 mile race around the lakes, this year’s race took place on tue 11th July.
Rachel reports on her experience of the race: “This is the 2nd year for me taking part in the watermead challenge and bizzarly it rained again as it did last year but was much needed. I have only been running for 6 months (I know I ran last year but was only 3 miles and had to stop running due to problems) and this race is ideal for me as it’s completely flat!! I would say it is really good for beginners as it enables you to get a decent time and is a really nice route giving you the option of either 3 or 5 miles. Running round I came across 2 groups of wreakies shouting out their support which was a lovely surprise (thanks guys x) and the wreake runners and supporters all waiting at the finish line to cheer myself and other wreake runners on, either 3 or 5 miles. All in all it was a great night and nice run and i was really happy with my time. Full results here: http://www.wreakevalleyrotary.org.uk/ |
