A few of Wreakes finest have decided to take on a ‘Middle Distance Triathlon’ later on in the year and what better way to test the water than to have a practise run!
Simon and Bethan Hargrave very kindly organised a trial run. Starting at Six Hills Lake swimming 3 laps (1800m) of the lake, the group set off at 8:45am on a beautiful sunny morning, once completed they began their 55 mile Bike ride leaving Six Hills and heading towards Gaddesby with two loops around Knossington / Cold Overton.
Then for the 13.05 mile run, using the old Gaddesby Half Marathon course heading towards Ashby Folville / Twyford /Burrough on the Hill and Great Dalby…. a tough undulating route to say the least!
The day was then finished off with some fantastic food (and a cold beer) made by Bethan & family
Everyone did extremely well and had a great day!
Thanks to Simon & Bethan for organising, Jane Collingham and everyone else who came to support .
Results and a few photos can be viewed on the ‘Flickr’ page….. here’s to the next one!
